meet nicole materne
As a local girl, former collegiate athlete, small business owner, and friend of the previous owners Mike and Lynda, I had a conversation over food and drink with them which led to Mike telling me, “You should buy our business!” Turns out they were looking for quality owners to continue to serve their customers so they could retire and go fishing. Two months later I became the owner of Abrasives Spokane. I hired a team to help carry on the great reputation Abrasives Spokane has for service to its customers.
My roots go back to gravel, rock crushing plants (Materne Bros. Contractors – for road grading) to competitive golf on the women’s circuit, including the LPGA tour, to medical device sales, and owning a small clothing company (2010-2012).
Marc and I have known each other since Junior High School days. He and his wife Jeana are keys to my success here at Abrasives Spokane and as we grow, I hope to have her marketing ideas make an impact on how we reach our community and customer.s.
MEET MARc Barton
I was born and raised in Spokane. Growing up I watched my dad and uncle race cars, which made me love everything automotive and motorcycles. I've been in some form of the car business my whole working life; from working in parts, selling truck accessories and being a service advisor, I've done a bit of everything.
On a personal note, I am involved with a local Boxer rescue and have successfully rehabilitated and rehomed 11 lives within 18 months. I have known Nicole since we were teenagers and I look forward to building new working relationships and growing Abrasives Spokane with her as we aim to meet all your needs.

Van came to us by way of Havana Street at 4 weeks old. Running for his life across 4 lanes of traffic. His time on the streets has shaped his toughness. His time in the shop has shaped his attitude. His full time travel and work schedule has made him a cool little guy . . . come say hi!
